As one of the largest Swiss drinks producers, RAMSEIER Suisse AG produces fruit juices, sweet drinks, mineral water, syrup, and beer. In 2018 they planned to modernize their warehouse in Hochdorf that had been storing various kinds of beverages since 1991.

At the same time, the storage and retrieval machine in the 1-aisle Satellite® storage system was also upgraded according to state-of-the-art technical criteria. The main focus was on the drives technology with servo multi-axle boosters. The warehouse management software was also migrated from PMain to Savanna.NET®.

In addition, user-friendly touch screen terminals were installed for operating the system. By making simple inputs (article number, pallet count), operators using these local terminals can initiate the required retrieval via Savanna.NET^®. Pallets can also be stored easily by means of manual scanners as well as the touch screen terminals. 

Using up-to-date software and database technologies enhances data and inventory security in the warehouse. Moreover, predefined storage optimisation strategies automate the creation of free channels. Software migration was performed over one weekend, without interrupting productive operations.
