Ecological action

Having our production in Germany, we consciously submit to the strict environmental standards and laws applicable here. Beyond these legal requirements, we are committed to continuous minimization of energy consumption. To save resources, we use modern drive technology and intelligent control processes in our automated warehouse systems. Energy and space saving high-density storage such as the storage system equipped with Satellite® has been our core product since 1971. It is being used by numerous businesses to bundle their logistics in a resource-saving way, including manufacturers of organic foods, producers of corrugated board and corrugated-board packaging as a fully recyclable packaging material, and processors of wood as a climate-neutral construction material.

At the current location we are implementing various programs for sustainable operations. These include, among other things, initiatives for the use of energy-efficient lighting concepts, a canteen with reusable tableware, support for the expansion of the charging infrastructure for electric cars in the region, and also the construction of a new, more energy-efficient production facility.

Social action

Westfalia takes its corporate social responsibility seriously. A medium-sized enterprise deeply rooted in the area, we actively support various programs that benefit the local community. These include sponsoring of schools, offers for families and local sports clubs, among other things. Vocational training has played a major part at Westfalia since its foundation. Every year, young people complete their training in commercial and technical areas. The offer for those entering the labor market is rounded off by a dual study program.

Our employees in the area of Software & IT are offered a large variety of further education courses to help them meet all market requirements. Additional health and safety programs, a company pension scheme and a health bonus make us an attractive employer in the city triangle of Bielefeld, Münster and Osnabrück.
