The Ergolding flour mill has been producing its traditional “Rose Flour” since 1898. Each year, the Bavarian Rosenmühle grinds up to 210,000 metric tons of rye and wheat. With its patented loading system and its own silo vehicles, this is one of the most modern mills in the world.

Since 2012, the filled flour sacks are stored in a new, fully automated high-bay warehouse with integrated picking. Two storage and retrieval machines, each equipped with two Satellites, store and retrieve the Euro pallets. The warehouse management and picking software Savanna.NET® handles a total of 1,260 pallet rack positions in the Satellite® storage system.

Efficient picking

On the first level of the storage system there are three picking tunnels. The order pickers here operate industrial trucks equipped with touch screens. The newly created picking processes ensure shorter picking times and greater efficiency.

Sinking costs

The Satellite® storage system replaces both the previous external warehouse with transportation shuttles and the internal block warehouse. It is connected to the production process via a conveyor bridge to avoid interference with the traffic routes on the site. This significantly reduces the costs of storage logistics and transport.
