Borgholzhausen, 18.06.2024 - On Tuesday, Westfalia Technologies GmbH & Co. KG invited its customers to the official opening of the new location "Am Teuto 1" in Borgholzhausen.
After a relaxed champagne reception, the day began with valuable information from various presentations on the latest safety requirements in warehouse automation. The relaxed atmosphere and the impulses gained led to a lively exchange between all participants.
Speech by the Managing Director
In a personal speech, Managing Director Andreas Gartemann reflected on how the company has made the breakthrough to become one of the leading providers of automated logistics solutions in a wide range of industries in Germany, Europe and also in North and South America. The majority of Westfalia's customers are now medium-sized companies from the food, packaging and corrugated cardboard industries. "Then as now, the focus is on long-term, sustainable and particularly personal relationships with you, our valued customers," he addressed the guests directly, thanking them for their long-standing partnerships and their trust in the company.
The Westfalia boss then explained why the new building had become so urgently necessary. The storage and retrieval machines that the company manufactures have become larger and larger and now often reach up to 40 meters. However, according to Gartemann, the old production facility was only designed for sizes up to 25 meters and expansion at the old site was not possible in terms of space. With a new area of 10,000 square meters under roof and a usable area of 15,000 square meters, the company has set new standards in terms of efficiency and functionality.
Tour of production and administration
Afterwards, the guests had the opportunity to see the innovations for themselves during a tour and take a look behind the scenes at Westfalia. During the tour of the modern administration and the bright and spacious production area, they were able to experience first-hand how Westfalia works on solutions every day to make its customers' intralogistics even more efficient.
Highlight of the day
The highlight of the day followed immediately afterwards: a visit to the 31st Terra Wortmann Open in the OWL Arena. Wortmann AG, whose group also includes Westfalia, is one of the largest German IT companies and has been the name sponsor of this important tennis tournament since 2021. On site, customers were welcomed by Sven Wortmann at the joint stand of the Wortmann Group, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the companies of the Wortmann Group and the terra product portfolio exhibited there.
One of the reasons for the close connection between the companies was the high synergy potential from which the respective customers also benefit. Thanks to the close partnership, Westfalia can offer its customized storage systems directly including comprehensive IT infrastructures. From backup solutions and the integration of the Wortmann Cloud to high-availability servers. In this way, Westfalia not only promises its customers investment security, but also delivers an efficient overall system, while Wortmann is able to record an increase in industrial customers at the same time.
The perfect end to this special day was a large, international buffet in the VIP lounge accompanied by exciting world-class tennis. This provided ample opportunity for further relaxed exchange and networking.
